Akwizgram is Łódź-based Antoni Hendrix Barszczak's project, joined here by several local guest musicians.

The two parts of Zamek (The Castle) appeared last year on the Enjoy Life label as a pair of digital EPs, each with artwork by Bartosz Zaskórski.

Barszczak explains that this cohesive mix of doomy, portentous synths and downtempo beats was inspired by "dungeon synth, Boards of Canada, black metal and obscure hip hop with a lot of both quasi-organic and industrial textures and mad attention to the detail. The dualistic concept is very important to this piece: “Zamek 1" is about a journey to the unattainable and wanting to discover some non-existent secret – achieving The Castle. “Zamek 2" is about being inside, burning and wanting to escape. Both parts are about reconciliation".

Textual or musical allusions are made towards Kafka, the black metal of Venom and Beherit, anime series Berserk and Polish TV comedy Świat Według Kiepskich.
