Phoenix Down is the sixth album by Oslo-based sound artist and composer Anders Brørby.
In contrast to its more ambient predecessors Nihil and Mulholland Drive, 1984, these tracks are more concise and restlessly kinetic, derived from processed field recordings, found sounds and samples, drowned in layers of granular synth.
Phoenix Down is rave music for people who don`t go out. Dance music for the mind. Soundscapes of neon-lit nights, vanishing skylines, and psychedelic violence.

Dark and surrealist, Mulholland Drive, 1984 sounds like the direct sequel of the dystopian Nihil. Anders Brørby expresses an existential determinism without giving in to fatality, he certainly yields towards nostalgia but also considers the foreseeable futures, he likes the blackness and doesn't forget it has no value without its antagonist.
